I work on a lot of computers. Technically, I am my company’s computer guy.
I don’t really have major training but I do have some experience. One of my big rantings (to everyone) is that a computer can do just about any practical application. There is software out there for just about everything feasible and it’s mostly free.
Pricelessware.org is definitely an outstanding source for free software. Everything on that site is completely free, useful and sans crapware of any kind. (more…)

I just finished watching Kerri Walsh and Misty May win another volleyball match. I was a big volleyball fan when I was in junior high. I actually went to a few of the matches, which was a rare occurence: doing things after school.
Now I don’t like watching all that swimming or track or gymnastics (gets way too much television coverage), but volleyball is more like a game. I enjoy watching and playing it (although I suck).
Anyway, they made it to the gold medal round. Which means one more game watching Kerri Walsh. She’s tall and attractive. She’s a blast to watch, because she’s just kinda this tall, awkward, nerdy athlete. She scrambles around and plays her heart out diving and tripping all over the sand. And does it well. She’s my vote for olympic sex icon and not him or her.

“Author’s-reference-to-self” warning.
I am a huge listener of music and one should write about what they know right? So I will probably make lots of mention of new, old, good, interesting artists that I am listening to and I think you should listen to too.
I will probably just put them at the end of other messages and not devote a whole message to some new CD unless for some reason it is so awesome that you have to hear it now. But it would sure have to be WOXY caliber.
You’ve been warned.

Jayne and I were talking about the phenomenon of p2p file sharing. Something I know little about.
Let’s just say I knew a guy who downloaded movies, and he crossed a few slip ups in someone misnaming stuff. Most likely on purpose so they can flood your incoming files with crappy movies noone wants to see. (Not saying the intended movies weren’t shitty in the first place)
Examples:
When trying to get the great Eli Roth flick, Cabin Fever, my friend got a different Cabin Fever from the past starring Mr. John Holmes. He kept it anyway.
When trying to get The Passion of the Christ, he instead got Apex with its robot probes.
